Mice, though tiny, can demand the attention of large elephants.
Atoms, though tiny, can demand the attention of countries who seek to maintain dominance.
Viruses, though tiny, can demand the attention of the entire human race.
Aside from being tiny and formidable, they have another thing in common: they are being themselves. Carrying out their work in a way that no one else can.
We need each other, but square pegs will never fit in round holes.
It’s more reliable to adjust ourselves than them. Accept them to move onwards. Together.
First fit together to then stand out together.
Current events are also a form of media which, like marketing campaigns, can be used to amplify your message.
Drug shortages, inequity, unaffordability, administrative burden, ….
How does your product fit in the narrative? If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.
Though differing, neither of our realities may be wrong. They’re just different. They’re simply different cultures.
Can we look past our differences and into a future which is meant for both of us?
Spend your attention on the right battles.
When your customer goes back to his office, what will he tell his colleagues? Will your product be the subject of their attention or just another item on their to-do list?
When he talks about your product’s attributes, his colleagues will be able to sniff out whether or not he believes in your product. Afterall, speech is like the tip of the iceberg: it’s only the top 1/3 that juts above the surface. The invisible 2/3 is an important part of the communication.
So then who is accountable for ensuring that your customer is convinced?
Most of us are convinced that work and spirituality are in conflict. Being spiritually curious is different from being curious about religion.
Work and spirituality are actually complementary forces, like a map and a compass: both mediums to help us reach our destination.
Spirituality is an important tool to inform direction and motivate gumption, whether we admit it or not.
Humans are the point.
Use things, not humans.
In an acidic environment, casein proteins in milk seek the company of each other. Lumping together yields soured milk. Tessellating together yields yogurt.
That’s why simply ‘coming together’ is not enough.
Curdling emerges from propaganda, implies exclusivity, and signals spoilage. Meshing emerges from divinity, implies inclusivity, and signals evolution.
